Started a Master’s degree in Politics & Technology
Bridging Politics and Technology
My academic journey at the Technical University of Munich (TUM)1 has been one of continuous learning and growing passion for sustainability. After completing my bachelor’s degree in Management & Technology, I realized the next step was to develop my expertise in policy-making to create meaningful impact, which led me to pursue the Master’s Program in Politics & Technology2 with a specialization in sustainability.
The epiphany
The first time I heard of the School of Politics and Public Policy (HfP)3 was in my fifth semester when I registered for the Governing Innovative Technologies - Cloud X Sustainability course. This course offered exactly the kind of family-like study environment I was familiar with from my previous studies: an environment where I could share ideas, have my voice heard, connect and learn from my peers, and experience diverse ways of learning. For the first time in my studies at TUM, I felt truly engaged with the content. This remarkable experience led me into a process of self-reflection about my current aspirations and motivations.
Looking back on my experiences, I realized that I have been advocating for positive change for a very long time. During my first undergraduate degree in Brazil, I volunteered in different social projects, where I worked to strengthen social relations within the university community, engaged with solidarity economy ventures to support groups of women in managing cooperative businesses, and worked closely with rural communities to identify their needs and develop collective solutions. This advocacy was also present in my leadership roles, where I was not only leading teams, but working for them — for better working conditions, improved internal policies, and more effective communication.
Looking to the future, I want to keep driving positive change.
